Are You Fit for Golf?
45Golf looks like an easy sport. A nice leisurely walk, swing a club now and then. Those that play the game know it is not as easy as it looks. To play well it requires a level of athletic ability comparable with other sports. It is well known that Tiger Woods and other top golfers spend a lot of time in the gym these days as they know that if they are fit they will play well.
Strength and Flexibility
Although great strength is not necessary to hit a golf ball, it definitely helps if you have a well conditioned and flexible musculature. If the muscles in the body are trained well they work better together as a cohesive unit which is exactly what you need to produce a good golf swing. Improved strength and flexibility will improve balance, power and coordination, and significantly reduces risk of injury.
Endurance
Golf requires a surprising amount of physical endurance. It's a long walk around a course and if you don't have the luxury of a caddie or power trolley, then pulling or carrying your clubs can take its toll if you are not fit enough. If you tire physically during the round, you will start to have trouble making good decisions and lose shots unnecessarily.
Improve your Scores
So in summary, to make sure you play to your best ability, you will definitely benefit from undertaking a physical training programme.
Get fit and flexible and watch your golf scores improve!

Two games of golf in my life.
One with four of five sons. All of them without hesitation advised me to give up.
Next game I was key note speaker at some advent, forgetting what my sons had urged, I put pride before the fall.
After 109 on the back nine, one of the other three experts, who all had handicaps of seven or less, begged off sick. I am convinnced he did not wish to embarass me any more.
The other decided to call it a day as well, telling me it was going to rain.
I have taken my sons' advice
I am getting fit though. Lots of walking
